I have an HP 15-f004wm Notebook running Windows 8.1. It originally came with 8.1 Standard but I wiped it and installed 8.1 Pro.

I installed the graphics drivers from HP's site for my laptop, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=...
but the graphics drivers do not work. It shows Microsofts Basic Display graphics drivers in Device Manager.

The only choices I have for the display setting are 800x600 and 1024x768(?) Both are ugly on this laptop.

Hi mej, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

Your drivers for your laptop are located here, HP 15-f004wm Notebook PC Drivers.

Under the graphics category there are two versions. Pick the driver from 2014-06-27 and let me know if it installs properly.

I tried that and it loaded but the computer did not recognize it. Still thinks it has the Microsoft driver.

Did you get any error messages after the installation? Open Device Manager and expand Display Adapters< then right click on the video adapter and click on properties, then click on the Driver tab. What does the driver date show?

I ended up buying recovery software from HP and using it for my driver issues. Case closed.
