My computer came with Windows 8 pre-installed and no back up discs. There is a recovery image in a partition on the hard drive and I have made another which is on a memory stick.

I have just upgraded to Windows 8.1.

Should I delete the old recovery image and make a new one, keep the old one and make a new one or just stick with the status quo?

You will need to make a new one as the 8.1 Update has quite a lot of change from the W8. Neil.

Keep both. If ever have to use a recovery image, it's good to have several, just in case one fails during recovery.

I agree to keep both - at least for awhile. Though you should not need to roll-back to 8.0, it is usually good to keep the most current, and one back.

I had this marked as resolved but when I went to creat a new Recovery Image, all I could find was a command to creat a drive but no way to create a new image. Can anyone advise please?

I am not using any software at the moment. I was looking for something in Windows but can't find it; only a provision to create a separate drive.

I am looking as to how to create a new image.
