Norton Security won't uninstall

I have a new computer that came with Norton Internet Security pre-installed.

I have McAfee via my ISP and Norton will want a subscription before long so I am sticking with McAfee.

I uninstalled Norton once but then had to do a system restore to the point before McAfee was installed and when Norton was. I have reinstalled McAfee and now want to uninstall Norton again but when I do, it wont uninstall.

The manual uninstall instructions on the web virtually are all on earlier versions of Windows. Can someone point me to instructions on how to do a manual uninstall in Windows 8?
