I got a new laptop :) Can Windows 7 run Photoshop 7.0? I know when I loaded it on my Vista, I had to change a compatibility setting and it worked. Anyone running it ok on W7?

Photoshop 7 is not listed in Windows 7 Application Compatibility List for IT Professionals, but then neither is Photoshop CS2 which I run alongside CS 3, 4 & 5 (I demonstrate PS to Clubs).

However there is a thread here which suggest that you can, but 'Run as Administrator' .....

Yes - right click on the setup.exe > Properties > Compatability and select Windows XP

I guess it will work OK if it did on Vista . Windows 7 and Vista share essentially the same core.

I don't remember choosing Windows XP, I remember it as more as something on the line of... "allow run with the system it finds compatible" OK I will report back what happens when I load it.

    Photoshop 7 in W7

YES, I ma running Photoshop 7 in my Windows 7 - 64 bit. It is installed and running as a program in C:'Program Files (x86) environment. I had to make ONE adjustment though - Set Font size to 149, else the cursor was getting a funny view - small and triple view.

    Hope this helps.
