Years ago, I knew the syntax for pinging a message to other computers on the network from the CMD line. Could someone give me that procedure?

    Thanks

Are you thinking of NET SEND?

I don't think it's available in 7 (though NET is). I'm still relatively new to 7 and perhaps there is an equivalent maybe someone else can help.

    Thanks for the replies.
I believe Net Send is what I used in WinXP.
Thanks for the link to LanTalkNet. But buying a copy of LanTakNet to install on every computer on the network is 'rip off' in my opinion. I can't go with that app.

Got to be a better and more reasonable method.
    Cheers

    MSN :)

Sorry  It would work though. I think NET SEND & WINPOPUP died a death because of all the worms that lived & spread in that protocol.

I actually checked out net send and they asked for the name of my network before they would download the software. I couldn't abide with that.

wildfire, thanks for your time and efforts
