Resolved What is watson.microsoft.com and should it be allowed?

    Hi

    My 'Eset smart security' is prompting me if i should allow the following:

    'An application running on this computer is attempting to communicate with a remote computer. Do you wish to allow this communication?'

    Application : windows host process (Rundll32)
    Publisher : Microsoft Windows
    Remote computer : watson.microsoft.com (65.55.53.190)
    Remote port : 89 (http)


    can anybody please guide why I should allow or disallow it?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

    Perfectly safe to allow - it is a function of Windows 7 error detection and solution, effectively replacing the Dr Watson debugger of XP and earlier.

    You can always check out the detail of a remote computer IP using .....
