The Windows 7 Professional has configuration below:

    IP Address: 192.168.5.33
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.5.1
    Workgroup: XYZ

On the same PC, the Windows 7 XP Mode has the following defaults:
    IP Address: 192.168.131.65
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.131.254
    Workgroup: WORKGROUP

I changed the IP of Windows XP Mode to the same segment on 192.168.5.x and Default Gateway to 192.168.5.1 and Workgroup to XYZ. It didn't work at all. Then I changed the IP Properties back to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically ", the XP Mode went back to the original default. Why?

Does it mean the XP Mode cannot be seen as a seperate PC in the XYZ Workgroup network?

With the VM running, choose Tools > Settings from the VM menu. Select Networking. In your case Adapter 1 will be set to Internal Network. Set it to one of your physical adapters.

Arie, I appreciate that. It just works.

How come the computer name under Virtual XP Mode became VirtualXP-68005? Anyway, it's not an issue to me.
