I am about to do a clean install of W7Pro. In using Windows Easy Transfer, is there any way to tell how much space I need on a thumb drive to back up my fies and settings from my old hard drive. I need to make sure my thumb drive is large enough. Or is there a better way to do this. There is ony one computer involved.
    Thaks,
    Bill

Bearing in mind what Windows Easy Transfer is capable of transferring you will need to look on your hard drive for file/folder sizes. There is no way we can second guess the amount of data to be transferred.
You may be better off using the DVD route unless your thumbdrive is 4 Gb.

ickymay - Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Never used Windows Easy Transfer - does it indicate the size of the data to be transferred before committing?
