My System

Yea, well, no more Outlook Express, or Vista's "Windows Mail". You are encouraged (by Microsoft, not me lol) to download the "Windows Live" Suite of tools, which includes the WinLive/MSN Messenger, Family Essentials, Toolbar, Movie Maker (which is no longer included with Windows 7, but still a free download), and, of course, Mail Writer, which works with any email account, not just hotmail/WinLive.

Avoid all the riffraff, and don't download the entire suite, unless you want all of the programs. I must say that I do like the Mail client. I used it throughout the "Vista years", and downloaded it again for Win 7.

Hope this helps.

You can download the entire suite of Windows Essentials and during the install choose which items you want to install. All I wanted was the movie maker, which also installs the windows live photo gallery.

Thanks for the info. I shall download Windows Mail when the time comes.

PS:Have Microsoft Office 2000 which contains,as you know, Outlook and Outlook Express. Does Windows Mail mirror Outlook Express which I have been using for nine years? Please advise. thanks for your time.

Steelers won.

I find my Vista Windows Mail to be very similar to Outlook Express.

You probably are aware, if you go up to the top of your thread, choose "thread tools" and select "Resolved," it will display throughout BBS.
