Just did a clean install of Windows 7 32 Bit. When I open Windows Update I get the Red Shield with the X on it. I checked the appropriate sections in Services (window update and dependencies), and both RPC (Remote Procedure Call) sections and everything is correct. Any further input would be appreciated.

Hi AceH. Do you have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 installed? Did you install all of the drivers for the various hardware devices?

How was the install performed. Retail DVD, OEM DVD, recovery disks or a Factory Reset through the recovery partition? Was Windows Activated?

    It resolved itself...

I just set it to update automatically at a certain time, it updated and resolved itself. :)
