Sometimes when I shutdown my PC, the system goes through the shutdown procedure and then starts up again. This happens sometimes but not always. I have tried both the direct shutdown from the menu, as well as using where I can choose restart or shutdown. Makes no difference. This does not always happen and I cannot find any pattern to why shutdown works most of the time, but not always. Not sure how to go about figuring out why this happens.
Also, has this happened to anyone else?
    Windows 7 Home premium SP1
I am the only user of this PC.

    Thank you Jorjab

    Yes
Also, I have Wot, cccleaner, Norton security , Spybot, adaware. I tried MBAM but I dislike it. I also do not use IE except when I absolutely have to.

I also once in a while check for online virus checks.

In addition, I do not open any emails that are even remotely suspicious. I have been told that I am paranoid about viruses etc.

MBAM is probably one of the best out there that there is. Easy to use. Recommend by most Malware/Spyware people doing cleanups. What don't you like about it?

Only running 1 anti virus program regularly (Norton Security Suite is always on). Others are run periodically and individually.

Concerning MBAM: I had it installed on my PC. Tried it again and it blew up. That is probably why I didn't like it ( was no update at the time). Downloaded update and installed. Ran it and it found no viruses.

Hi jorjab. Does the computer shut down normally if you boot the computer into Safe Mode?

What blew up? Your PC or MBAM. Never heard of this problem with MBAM. Not saying it didn't or won't happen.

I never tried booting up in safe mode, but I would have no way of telling if that would make a difference, as it is not a consistent problem. Just every now and then. Therefore would not know if safe mode made a difference, unless I just boot up that way every day, until I determine it happens or does not happen. No way of predicting when this will happen.

Alright fair enough. I'd like to see what is starting up with your machine.

Please download Autoruns. After you download the zipped folder on your desktop, right click the zipped folder and click Extract All. After the folder has been extracted open the regular folder. Run the autoruns.exe program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When you open the program click the Logon Tab and then post a screenshot of all the startup entries in your next reply.

    Autoruns file

I have not had my restart problem occur since I have posted to the BBS.

If no one see anything wrong in this auto runs file and I don' have the problem happen for a week or so I will close the post.
    Will blame it on Gremlins.:D

Can you post a screenshot of the Logon Tab in Autoruns instead of posting the log file? Its much easier to analyze a screenshot of your startup entries than having to look through the Autoruns text file thanks.

Won't let me paste and file snapshot or files contents. That was a txtfile I attached. Won't let me upload the screen shot or paste it.
