Dual booting W7 Ultimate 64Bit. C partition is fine. D partition is bloated, zapped and old with too many problems to repair. Tried to format or delete in Disk Management/Admin tools but format and delete are grayed out. Notice from attached running on C: that D: is listed as the active partition. Any ideas?

Could that possibly be the recovery partition you're referring to.

Open Disk Management, right-click on the C: partition and select "Mark Partition as Active ". Then you should be able to select "Format" when you right-click on the D: partition.

Because the W7 install on D: was too far gone, I decided to install the W10 Tech Beta on D: just to see if there was a problem with this partition. It installed without problems and I'll play with it a bit to get a feel for W10. I'll mark this thread as resolved.
