Is there a method to remove entries in Update History marked "Failed "? In my case I have numerous number of such marked entries and would like to remove these marked entries. Thank you.

Make sure you click Start< Run and then type %windir% and hit enter to open the C:\Windows folder.

I carried out your instructions. In Windows, are displayed 97 items. Unable to see any reference to Windows updates.

If you follow the instructions in the link Evan Omo provided this is where you should be. C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\DataStore.edb. Right click on DataStore.edb then Rename from DataStore.edb to DataStoreold.

No it resets all of the Windows Update history. As far as I know there is no way of removing just the failed entries. If you want to clear the update history then you would follow the procedure that I linked to above which clears all of the history and not just certain entries.

Help given by all,has been most appreciated. In my case, required to remove the vast amounts of "fails" listed in my Windows Updates and a complete deletion of all entries in this instance is just fine.
For some unknown reasons, instructions given fails to complete. However, in further checking the Windows Update, that all my "fail" entries and others are no longer listed. Thank you all, my requirement has been successfully carried out.
