I have an Acer Aspire, 5733-6424 laptop and the hard disk went bad. I replaced the 500 GB Western Digital with a new drive and reloaded the OS from my Recovery disks. The machine was fine for only a few days and now there is a message, The program can't start because OLEAUT32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
The recovery disks are actual disks that I created. Please note, I'm reinstalling the OS as I type this post.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Please let us know if reinstallation of the OS is successful or not successful. If not Start-type in search box COMMAND right click on Command Prompt then click on run as administrator in command prompt type sfc /scannow then hit enter.

Also, have a look at this MS Hot Fix for your error code:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2870467Memory leak in Oleaut32.dll on a Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2-based COM server
Make sure this is for your comp OS. Neil.
