    Hi;

    I have another laptop at home with W7 Ultimate installed. I have a printer HP1015. I am facing a problem that when i send a print command to printer, system sends the command but print doesnt start and shows as pending document. This printer works well with any other system but doesnt work with my system. Before this window, i had W7 premium but same problem with that version too. i guess that may be it is a hardware problem with USB port but any other item (mouse, key board, memory card etc) works well but printer not. And at the other end, as i quoted earlier, printer works well without any trouble with any other system. Please help me out.

    Are the other systems Win 7?

    Did you get the newest drivers from HP's web site?

    Maybe this is irrelevant to your issue, but at times, the print command gets stalled between Windows 7 and my Canon printer. I resolved it by navigating to the Canon folder in the start menu and clicking on MP Navigator. I didn't have to do anything special; I just opened the interface and the printer started printing.

    MP Navigator is a starting point (interface) for all of my Canon print / scan / copy options. Have you tried opening something similar from HP's menu?

    Tried my best but problem is there. Tried to download the software directly but failed. HP scan doctor also failed to communicate with printer while tried many times. Also restarted the printer and changed the USB port but all in vain. The printer works well without a single problem with my other laptop.

    I setup a new Dell Windows 7 machine over the weekend, and the owner is having a similar problem with their HP printer. They have to go through hoops just to get the printer to print from a laptop, and the HP didn't want to accept print commands from the new Dell either.

    Trying a different USB port solved this problem for the time being on the Dell, but I have yet to figure out what the issue is with the laptop (Toshiba, Windows 7). I think the owner is leaning towards buying a new Canon.

    I would completely uninstall all HP Software. Then go to HP and enter your Full info about your Printer and Operating system and allow HP to search and identify and Download directly.
    This has generally worked for me. I've had CD's that came with the printer that would not load drivers correctly.
    As Pete said, best to get from the manufacturer. Neil.

    Hi Ij50;

    The serial # with "00" system detected automatically when i run the "HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows ". However I have also tried with S/N CNFD034910 only but no way.
    As i have already stated that if i do connect this printer with any other system having Windows 7, system automatically install its software and no any single problem I face for printing. But problem is specifically with this Laptop. I have tried with other USB ports of Laptop also but the same results while any other device (Key board, mouse cell phone etc) works well with all USB ports of that Laptop.

    This have become a challenge for us to resolve. Any other suggestion?

    Just grasping at straws. Does the printer software give you any option to install the printer wirelessly on the laptop in question?

    Yes, it does but I selected USB as printer was connected with system via USB.
    Is it possible that I should copy the driver from my other laptop where printer works well and then install the driver in this Laptop? If possible then please give me instructions.

    Your best bet with a transfer would be from Laptop 2.
