As the sole user of my laptop I find quite often that "you do not have permission to access" and/or "you don't have Administrators rights ".

Can someone please tell me how to overcome this.

(Windows has a HELP section to help you learn;))

Control Panel->USERS->look for an option called User Access Control and lower the setting.

If you wan to lower your UAC settings (Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings), make sure you do not select Never notify.

You'll loose a lot of extra protection when you choose that setting (including Internet Explorer's Protected mode).

I'm really wondering what it is you are trying to do.
