[Internet Explorer Script Error when opening folder in Windows Explorer]

fresh install of Win2K, I've loaded SP4 and all critical updates. Now I try to open a folder at the root of c:\ (lets say c:\WINNT) iI get an error window

Reguardless of how I answer nothing is displayed.

I also cannot display anything in 'windows help'. I can see the contents, (or index, or search results) but when I click on a topic nothing is displayed in the right frame.

Aslo can't get out to windows update. I can go to other web sites, and when i try to get to update.windows.(whatever the rest of the url is) the browser says it is finished but I have a blank white page.

Here may be the fix for this problem.

"Stop default hiding of system folders contents (\WINNT, \WINNT\SYSTEM32, \Program Files) in Windows 2000
In every folder open with Notepad the hidden file folder.htt, find the line
gShowFiles = !gFolder.HaveToShowWebViewBarricade;
and replace it with
gShowFiles = true;.
