Explorer View is Grayed

Hiyas,

When using Explorer, (Win2k, SP4, fully updated), the user is getting a grayed out explorer window. No objects are available for him to view, however, the window to the right he is able to navigate to the folders to get to what he needs.

I have gone through the KB, I have tried several of the fixes outlined with no results. Specifically KB 818090 which pretty much outlines what is happening.

Any suggestions or follow-up questions would be greatly appreciated.

Since this sounds like a very M$ specific bug and since the recommended fix didn't help, why not go to the 818090 page and click the area on the right for Microsoft Support. This should be free (although you'll see a $99 figure mentioned once you get to the support page). Down the page a little, you'll see a note that two free support incidents are allowed and my experience has been that for program bugs, they just don't charge.

It'll be by email but I've had good experience with using it. Fast response and techs who know their stuff. Also techs who have access to lots of bug info and bug fixes that us normal mortals don't.
