That's a different question which will generate it's own discussion and therefore has to be in its own thread. I will split your question into it's own thread.

    EDIT: Done!

People who actually run Win10 will have to help you but from what I've heard/read, there's a difference between Home (not possible) and Professional (possible).

Thanks Christer and Steve, This is why I like this forum for information.

I was also starting to think this is the same issue with the Cast To Device feature that shortcuts in Home 10 are provided but don't work other than Chrome's Extention.

There is an alternative way to do so - in both home & pro. Simply select your network connection as "Metered ". Windows won't download updates automatically on metered connections.

My question would be "Why do you want to stop WU in W10? "
And in answer to your 'casting' - this is now a feature in Edge in W10. Neil.

Well the problems that are on 2 are not happening on 1. This why I have test machine before I put on my good pc.

I believe it is still same problem with Edge as any format video. Chrome has no problem works fine. I searched Microsite and no info

I'm running Windows 10 Pro Version 1511 OS Build 10586.14 on this comp and a recent message from MS (today) said the facility was working in Edge and invited me to try it. Hence my earlier Post in this Thread. Neil.

Since I am running Home I will assume that is why mine only says "searching for Devices" then "No Devices Found" on both Home devices on both versions.
I have also removed upgrades and performed clean installs.

I have just deleted the WindowsUpdate tasks in Task Scheduler after exporting them.
Perhaps that can stop Windows Update.

Winaerotweaker also has an option to turn off updates. I use this on one of my machines and seems to work well.

I would still caution turning off WU as W10 is still being fine tuned by MS and problems you are experiencing may be cured in newer updates.
Not all comp hardware/software manufacturers have produced W10 compatible drivers yet and it is an ongoing update. Neil.

    Do you mean http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.1836

I prefer manual update to auto-update, and I want to install updates selectively.

Why? I personally don't consider I know which updates my computer needs. Surely the programmers know how best the OS will operate? Neil.

I think security updates are obligatory, while others could be optional according to the user's personal preference. Windows Updates does not even notify me before installations, so I have no chance to choose the time to install them.

The image that you posted is from the winaero site and is version 0.1.0. You are correct that the version 0.3.2.2 is different.
If you scroll down to Behavior\Windows Update Settings you will find the Off feature.
If this is what I think you are asking

Thanks a lot! I was stupid enough not to scroll down to Behavior\Windows Update Settings, which is exactly what I want.
