windows updates [error 0x8007043B]

I cannot seem to get the windows update to work after running the ASR. When I try it comes up with error 0x8007043B I tried one of Microsofts fix it yourself repairs in that the service is not and won't start in the services.msc folder when I try it gives me a error 1083. The other fix is in the reg edit where you navigate to netsvcs and add bits and wuauserv to the value data. The problem is that I can't seem to find where the value data entry box is.

Any help and suggestions would be great

Since you did not identify which of "Microsoft's fix it yourself repairs" you tried, here are a few links.

Microsoft KB910337: You may receive an error message that contains the "0x8DDD0018" code or the "0x80246008" code when you try to download updates from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site or from the Microsoft Update Web site

NOTE: There are other pieces of information in the "RESOLUTION" section of the article I linked above that you should also read/follow, especially if the steps quoted above do not fix your issue.
