There appears to be a new rootkit which is targeting ComboFix, created by sUBs, an anti-spyware developer.

Please do not use ComboFix until this issue is resolved.

They actually have another tool, but there isn't yet enough about how to use it, so I won't post any info about it until I know more.

And yes, sUBs is working hard on updating CF.

Please do not randomly use this tool. It is best deployed by those who are trained in what its findings reveal and different computers will have different infections and require different ways to remove some infections.

Due to a potential bug in the tool, which may render a machine inoperable the developer has pulled it offline to figure out what needs to be done to fix it.

Anyone who has a copy is strongly urged not to use it until the developer has ample time to research the problem.

Please look to this thread for updates.

 

ComboFix has been updated to allow usage by all.
