    Hi Sue

    Welcome to the Board.

Don't panic. But this is typically part of a virus. Luckily for you it is missing. Likely the remainder of what your virus scanner did not clean.

    See: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/not_used-15738.html

    In Hijack this remove the following: F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe vmmdiag32.exe

Update your Spyware Doctor but run in safe mode as directed below
Update you Virus scanner and do the same

You want to save the below first but not run.

Download but don't run this: http://users.telenet.be/marcvn/tools/haxfix.exe

Download but don't run this: http://www.xblock.com/download/xclean_micro.exe

Download the following 2 programs if you don't already have them:

    Spybot
    http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=506&file=15&evp=8dbaff7daca8f4b55bf695220993fc0f

    Adaware
    http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=2471&file=15&evp=2470f9bfb0cc682334ff8c4459556118

If you already have them them UPDATE them and run them.

After all above are downloaded installed and updated.

Spybot and Adaware are the only ones that neeed updating.

THEN: boot to safe mode and run them in this order. The reason we go to safe mode is to try to ensure that any culprit is not running in memory/has file open. This is less likely to be the case in safe mode.

But remember to update Spybot and Adaware before booting to safe mode as there is no internet connection in safe mode.

    xclean_micro.exe
    Haxfix
    Spybot
    Adaware

Rremove all they find. ALL THEY FIND!!!!!

    Mike

In reviewing your log. It appears you have or had Norton but McAfee is now in charge.

It is not a good practice to have 2 of the CPU hogs running at once. Performance is degraded.

A little cleanup here could improve you system performance and stability.

Also it appears that you have a couple other Spware/Adware cleaners loading. If they are current and updateable then keep them. If they were shareware and not updateable then uninstall them.

Review each line in the HiJackThis log for old entrys related to programs you no longer use or have uninstalled or don't want. Delete these entries.

Any entries that you remove that mention a program you no longer use or want, be sure to go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall them.

    Mike
