    Hi,

There's a couple of websites I visit (one is: coast to coast) and while I can get to the main page, I can't navigate anywhere without an error message:

Error info: Mod name: npswf32.dll mod version:9.0.28.0 offset:000a8722

It seems to be generated by Dr. Watson.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I can access the whole site with (ick) Internet Explorer.

Would reinstalling NS over itself solve this problem? Or, should I completely uninstall (saving my bookmarks, .slt profile folder) and reinstall?

This problem started when I accidentally clicked "yes" to install the latest MacroMedia SWF update. I usually click "no" and the sites work fine anyway.

    Or, is there another option?

My OS: XP Pro, SP1 (with all patches\hotfixes\security, etc., installed)
    NS: v 7.2

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Chris,
I have seen a post almost like yours, a short time ago. I know that someone will be able to get it, but I can't, now.
A real website would help, because it is not obvious what you are referring to.
When, I get a Shockwave plugin, I specifically look for it at the website, and never had problem with. I have heard that there can be some interaction between the plugin, and ActiveX, which is specifically designed to work with IE, but it may not work with NS.
Uninstalling and reinstalling NS would, very likely, accomplish nothing, as this is a problem outside NS, probably created by the way a website is designed.

    Hi Westside,

Thanks for getting back to me. The problem isn't just with the one site I mentioned, but any site that requires ShockWave.

If it's an active-x control, do you know how to delete it or even find it?

Like I said, all this started when I updated; I *never* had any problems before.

    Chris

You don't want to remove any ActiveX. It won't work without it. The plugins file in the Plugins folder is npmozax.dll. Did you use this link to download your plugin? It is the one I have.

    Hi Westside,

I had waaaaay too much time on my hands today and I uninstalled: Netscape; Adobe; Macromedia and Shockwave from *everywhere* (including the registry).

I reinstalled Netscape, the latest Adobe, and that's it.

So far I can go anywhere with no problems. No "npswf32.dll" errors, anywhere.

I went to the Adobe page and the FlashPlayer test worked, but the ShockWave window said I needed to download it.

To be honest, I'm kinda afraid to. What I have now is working and I don't remember the exact place on the site, but, I read that (something) might not work with NS.

You mentioned "npmozax.dll" and it's in the plugins folder. However, the size is 104KB and the date is 8-4-04. Would you mind letting me know the date and size your file is? And, do you think replacing it with a newer .dll will help? There's still a couple of sites that are a little buggy with NS, but not (ick) IExplorer.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Sorry, I can't help you with the npmoxax.dll file. It is included in NS7.x, so it would be pretty old. I have removed NS7.2, from my computer, almost one year ago. Such files are a bit different for other programs, and I still have the files for Mozilla and Seamonkey, both 108 Kb in size, but more recent.
You are, probably ok with your file.
