I posted this question in another thread but it didn't get much notice I guess, so I thought maybe if I isolated it...

When I click on "Help" on the menu bar in IE6 and then select "online support" my browser is redirected to Monarch Computers. I suspect this is because Monarch set this computer up and the installation of Windows XP Pro is an OEM.

Is there a way to correct this so that it points at the Microsoft Product Support page?

Remove the IE 6 custom branding:

Download and install this little utility:
    http://www.dougknox.com/utility/scripts_desc/unbrand.htm

Follow with two Run statements (ignore any errors):
    Start, Run, rundll32 iedkcs32.dll,BrandCleanInstallStubs
    Start, Run, rundll32 iedkcs32.dll,Clear

Reboot and test. There can be one more hook into the Help system that would have to be removed. Please advise. (Also, please name the ISP that branded the software).

    Bill,

Thanks that worked! Now I have DL'd and installed IE7 and it seems to be working OK.

As for "the ISP that branded the software "...I'm not sure what you mean. ISP? Monarch Computer built the system and installed the OEM of WinXP pro Sp2 and I assume that they created the hook to their own website simply because an OEM is not entitled to any direct support from Microsoft...Monarch is supposed to be the go-to "help" resource for the OEM version of Windows.
