For some unknown reason my computer has been acting strangely. Sometimes when I click on a link it'll go to black for a few seconds and then come back although not always completely redrawing the screen. Sometimes if I wait it allows the mouse to work again etc. If I try to bring up task mgr it sounds like it's trying to open (I have a sound attached to opening a file) but never shows up on the screen.
The one thing that seems to do it every time is trying to download a video clip or trying to open one. I reinstalled Media player to no avail also tried Quicktime and VLC video player with the same results. I ran my AVG and MS Defender, Ewido, A Squared, Adaware Spybot and several others (all of these are updated daily) with no significant results, other then finding a few tracking cookies etc which I dealt with. I haven't installed any new software although it seems to have started after I used Azureus to download a video. When I went to do a System Restore I also found no restore points available to use. Whatever the culprit is it seems to have erased those also.
When it acts up the only way I can reboot is to hit the restart button. I also ran Chkdsk. I ran Hijack this also and to the untrained eye like mine found nothing significant in the log, although that may be because I'm don't exactly know what to look for.
Any help will really be appreciated. I'm getting to the point where I'm afraid I might have to reformat (yikes), if no one can help. If anyone needs to see the Hijack This log I'll be glad to send it to you.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello floyd,

Azureus is a Bit Torrent client - chances are that if you got infected, that's where.

Start a thread in the Spyware/virus removal section with a Hijackthis log.

    Download and run HijackThis:

Download from here http://radiosplace.com/ latest version 1.99.1

Download it to it's own folder, for example create a folder C:\HijackThis

unzip (double click on zipped folder)

    click on the execute

click on Do a system scan and save a logfile and save to the folder you just created

copy resultant .txt file and paste into your next post

You can copy and paste your symptoms from here to the new thread or link back to this thread - somebody will close this one.

    Regards - Charles
