    Greetings.

Hi I'm just new here and I'm glad on found this forum. I am having a problem on getting bsod which I don't know what's the exact cause. The first time I've encountered this is that there's a problem on USBPORT.sys. But the only device connected to my USB port is my mouse. Morever when I've encountered another bsod, its stated a different error. I've tried reinstalling the chipset driver, reformatting my drive, rolling back to the original chipset drivers from the motherboard's cd, moving my memory to a different slot etc still no good.

My first suspect would be the RAM, however I did several memory test using memtest86+ 1.65 but it didn't show any error.

Here is the link for my dump files generated by the debugwiz tool:
    http://www.mediamax.com/nauhe/Hosted/dump.zip

I apologize if I only pasted the link since I have 2 different dump files.

It also includes other bsod dump files. I am having a very difficult time in trying to determine what's the cause of this problem and I really really appreciate those who could help me on solving this.

BTW, my pc specs as follows

Intel Pentium D 820 on Intel DP965LT motherboard
    512MB DDR2-667 @ 1.8V

    Many Thanks.

    Best Regards,

All your dumps point to problems with your USB.

I'd run XP's System File Checker to make sure that the USB system files aren't corrupted.

Your motherboard uses the Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family. There is a fairly recent chipset driver upgrade. (As well as a very recent graphics driver update).

In addition, you have the feature to disable any of the 10 USB ports not in use. It might be wise to disable 9 of them in your case.

Thanks bill for the advice, unfortunately there's no option in the bios on disabling the usb port. Its either enable or disable all and I'm using the latest bios version. Well possibly on the device manager itself I could disable that. Its also weird because physically I only have 7 USB ports,5 of them are built-in on the board and 2 from the front panel.

As for the chipset drivers, I am also using the updated version still it doesn't help. Tried to revert it back to previous and still the problem exists.

Added info is by default I have the USB Legacy BIOS option set to enabled. Is that the reason for this bsod or do I have a bad RAM ? I just really need some advice from the experts here. Thank you very much.

    Regards,

    Henry

I've just tried the DocMemory, kept it running for 4 hours and it didn't detect any errors. Correct me if I'm wrong, does the bold string stated above is the exact memory address where the error had occured? If not, where could I locate the memory address so that I might could check that range using memtest if possible. Thanks

But I am not convinced it is a hard memory error.
    It is an IRQL error.

I see. Well based on the dump files that I've posted, what patterns do you see? It randomly appears which in fact I'm having trouble to reproduce it so that I could easily determine what specific hardware is the cause. Any ideas sir?

You cannot tell from that dump.

If you notice, not a single driver is listed.

Could you download and run Everest, and report back the voltage and termperature readings? http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181

The only consistency in your two reports has been an issue with USBPORT.SYS.

Unfortunately, Everest home doesn't support the ICH southbridge and the only readings that I could get is my GPU and hardisk temperature. However I am using Intel's desktop utilities, the readings as follows:

    Temperature
    Processor - 45C
    Motherboard - 50C
    I/O Controller Hub (ICH) - 48C
Memory Controller Hub (MCH) - 46C

    Power
    +12V - 12.234V
    +5V - 5.226V
    +3.3V - 3.302V
    +1.5V - 1.263V
    Processor Vccp - 1.208V

EDIT: This are my idle readings. I've conducted a 20 minute stress test and the readings are as follows:

    Temperature
    Processor - 59C
    Motherboard - 65C
    I/O Controller Hub (ICH) - 48C
Memory Controller Hub (MCH) - 48C

    Power
    +12V - 12.148V
    +5V - 5.246V
    +3.3V - 3.296V
    +1.5V - 1.261V
    Processor Vccp - 1.208V

Based on the readings, I don't know if its normal that I only get a 1.263V on the +1.5V side. Also one of the strangest things is during my stress test, that bsod won't show up. Again, its very random.

Are you using an NVIDIA display adapter?

I believe your motherboard has on-board intel graphics.
Remove the Nvidia board and use the on-board display adapter.
Be sure to make the appopriate BIOS settings to reflect this change.
Disable, not uninstall, the Nvidia adapter in Device Manger just prior to shutting down to remove the Nvidia adapter from your system.

    Test.

Actually sir, my motherboard doesn't have a built-in graphics adapter.
