XP Pro Search Companion locks up my pc

    Hi,
    Hope someone can help. As soon I select files and folders in the Search Companion my processor usage goes to 100% and just sits there. At this point I can't do anything else including shut down or task manager. I have to power down to get back to work.

    Does it freeze in Safe Mode?

    If not, the problem is likely stems from Search Assistant being unable to connect to http://sa.windows.com. This can be caused by proxy servers, firewalls and some "ad blocking" software.
