I have a folder in my 'C:\Documents & Settings\Geoffrey\' folder, (which is my home directory and I am the Administrator), which I can't access and neither can the software who's configuration files this folder contains.
When I try to access it from either Explorer or the Comand Prompt I get an 'Access Denied' message.
This folder is not supposed to be locked according to the manufacturer of the software that uses it.

I tried creating another Administrator account logged in under that and got the same Access Denied message just trying to look at 'C:\Documents & Settings\Geoffrey\' let alone getting to the offending folder.

Any suggestions on how I can unlock this directory?

    Thanks - that worked

Thank you Pete, I had actually found this solution a couple of hours earlier but thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. I hope life is treating you well.
