    Hi all,

So sorry for this stupid question. I plan to buy a new computer on Memorial Day, and I plan to install voice recognition software, medical billing or transcription software, on it. Would I be better off with Windows XP Pro or Home Edition?

What is the basic difference between the two. Someone mentioned automatic encryption on Pro but that kind of scares me. Suppose I couldn't decrypt my stuff?

Thank you so much for any replies.

    Gail

In any business environment Pro is better than Home. It has better controls for permissions, and better networking facilities. Pro is all round a better operating system.

Thank you, ReggieB. I'm not sure what permissions, etc. are, but if you think it's a better OS for business software that's what I need to know. Thank you again.
