    Hi All,

I made a backup of my e-mail when I was using Outlook 2000. I have now installed Office 2003 and had problems with Outlook 2003 so I started using Outlook Express and I do like it so have decided to make it my default e-mail service.

Problem now is I want to import my Outlook 2000 backup but I can't seem to just import them into Outlook Express. Is there something I need to do first????

    Thanks.

Did you lose the Outlook 2000 files (mail, addresses, whatever) when you upgraded to 2003 so that the backup is your only copy?

    Backed up how, exactly?

I backed them up in a .pst file and deleted everything. That's when I was trying to get Outlook 2003 to work. I finally gave up on that and started working with Outlook Express and have had no problem but would now like to bring all my old e-mails to Outlook Express.

That's the part that I don't seem to know how to do. It's not as simple as just clicking import because the options I have to choose from do not have a .pst option.

    Thanks.

.pst files are the standard/everyday file that Outlook uses.

File-> Import->Messages->Outlook->Drill down to where the .pst file is.

actually i believe that if you put the .pst file in the correct outlook folder when you open outlook it should recognize the file.

and what steve jones wrote is also correct. just click file, import and click outlook.
