I've been using SpoofStick for almost a year http://www.corestreet.com/spoofstick/index.html and never had any problems with it.

I'm not a professional if that's what you mean; have both installed and recommended SpoofStick on other systems.

    Regards - Charles

    phishing toolbars

Besides charlesvar SpoofStick .You may want to look at this...
"Some 5,600 phishing sites have been detected and blocked by people using the Netcraft Toolbar since the system started at the turn of the year and the community has been widely featured in the media from the Washington Post & Wall St. Journal through to Slashdot. "

    Go here for more infomation..

You can also put this javascript (which I copied from a Bookmarklets site) as an Internet Shortcut into your Favorites (perhaps calling it Spoof Check) and click on it when you are suspicious of a site. (Alternatively you can paste this into the Address line of IE when you are viewing a page and click Enter.)

    javascript:alert('The%20actual%20URL%20is:\t\t'%20+%20location.protocol%20+%20'//'%20+%20location.hostname%20+%20'/'%20+%20'\nThe%20address%20URL%20is:\t\t'%20+%20location.href%20+%20'\n'%20+%20'\nIf%20the%20server%20names%20do%20not%20match,%20this%20may%20be%20a%20spoof.')

This does not detect spoofs automatically as do the third party programs, but neither does it install anything on your PC.
