Hi. Don't know if I shd post this question in this forum, but since I don't know what the problematic files are, I'll post this thread here for now. If it's more applicable to other forum(s), plz let me know.

i've been continuously getting these 3 error msgs for the whole evening:

    1) "Windows System

    Error in Winsock Module
    Connection Structure is unknown.

    Possible Reason:
Your Firewall and/or Antivirus application block the
    System-File: services.exe

Make sure that "services.exe" can connect to the internet. "

    2) & 3) just replace the red services.exe with carss.exe & smss.exe.

I don't even know what is the "Winsock Module" & what are these exe's. I checked my firewall--it's off, so it can't possible block the exe's. Now I can't even sign in to my MSN messenger. what's wrong?

i'll appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks in advance.

    cstdc--See here

Especially if you run Win98 it might apply.
Interesting that two of you come up with the same, somewhat obscure, problem about the same time.
I suggest you leave your firewall on.

cstdc--Thanks for posting back. You are most welcome. Always good to hear that a suggestion helped. Did you learn the name of the trojan?
