We recently got 5 Dell GX280 systems and I set them up this weekend. They are P4 2.8 Ghz running Windows XP SP2 on SATA hard drives. On all of them i get random blue screens on restart. All of them with the same error. I have run the dump check on 3 of them and below is the common error they all have. They all have built on Intel graphics cards.

    UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP_M (1000007f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
    If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
    use .trap on that value
    Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
    Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
    Arguments:
    Arg1: 0000000d, EXCEPTION_GP_FAULT
    Arg2: 00000000
    Arg3: 00000000

Can someone tell me where to look to stop this? It happens on the Dell pre-loaded OS and on one I have rebuilt from scratch. I can post the logs for the others if needed.

Thanks for the heads up on this one joe.. I'll take a swing.

So, on this one, your machine was in the middle of processing an IRP or something running at APC level. Something bad happened, and it needed to throw a dialog to the user explaining what happened. As its processing that, something went horribly wrong, and a page fault was generated as it tried to SwapContext.

The good news is this dump can be analyzed, the bad news is that you are going to need to contact Dell or Microsoft to have the dump read. This one will take some honest debug work to determine how this happened.

Please configure the machines to generate a Full dump, rather than a mini dump in the Startup and Recovery options, and collect the memory.dmp that is generated. This will be required to do the analysis.

Good luck and please post back what the resolution is so the next poor guy who gets it can benfit from your trial.
