    Hello!

Recently I have problem with my Windows media player. When I try to open it a message pop up, An internal application error has occurred.
I try to roll up to WMP 9 but the proces stops before the end. I try to install WMP 10, 9 and 7.1 but a message pop up with, Extracting file failed. It is most likely caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted cabinet file.

And there is no icon for WMP in add/remove programs.

But when I open a classic media player from Total Commander there is no problem. I can not open WMP 10 fromTotal Comm and if I go to the skins subdirr. in total comm it opens again.

    Help me please.
    Thanks

Suggest you go to comtrol panel, add/remove programs, and click add/remove windows components in the left margin; in the window that opens scroll to windows media player, uncheck it and ok (and finish) which will remove it. Then repeat but click to check it again (which will reinstall it fresh).
    Hope this helps.

paggy--No personal experience here so I googled
"Windows Media Player" "An internal application error has occurred. "
Lots of references but no solutions.
One suggestion was to look into your Events Viewer (Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Event Viewer|click System and/or Application on left panel) to see if any Error messages were generated. You get get more detail by right clicking on the Error, then Properties.
As far as reinstalling WMP, you could go to the Registry
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall\Windows Media Player, and delete this key. (Probably best to first back this key up in case you need to restore (File\Export). )
Or, if you do not find it, go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components
When you find WMP, you change the IsInstalled value from 1 to 0.
The trouble with that is that you have to go through all those CLSID's to find WMP. (Again well to backup the key.)
And download a new WMP set up file to install, in case the other is corrupted.
