    I think the saddest part of adware and popups is the amount of them that are for online gambling and pornographic material. If one wants such material, we do not have to look that hard already, having it forced into our PCs for all ages to see is obscene. And having it pop up at every turn on the web whether you want it or not is also a concern.

    But at the same time the web is an invaluable resource for people of all ages for research and information, and education.

    Many of my clients have kids and they are concerned that thier kids are seeing way too much for thier age on the web. What does a 6 year old want with a ***** extension or a live cam feed from an orgy? For that matter what does an 90 year old want from them either?

    Till now my best advice has been supervision with kids, and not telling them the password needed to dial in to the net or log into the PC if possible, so you have to be thier to log on.

    I would like to know from anybody out there with any experience with software that successfully filters all adult content so the net is not so adult for kids. I dont know of any that hasnt been worked around by people it was designed to block. Those S.O.Bs tag thier web pages to get through these programs. Like they want kids to see it. Its sick.

    Anyway any advice on Web filtering for kids would be appreciated.

    I've used a program called NetNanny and have recommended it to several people. It's one of the better ones that I've found for doing exactly what you are asking, blocking objectionable material. You can check it out at this site;

    if you are getting alot of adult orientated popups and are not actively browsing adult themed sites, you may have spyware on your system. mainstream websites tend to stay away from such material.

    you may want to run a spyware scan.
