I just got a new computer with Windows Media player series 9. When I put the CD-R disc in, the media player gives an error message: "trouble downloading codecs" and will only play the CD as music.....no video. I can put the same CD-R into a differect computer and the Media Player has no problems picking up the audio and video. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi tzody and welcome to the forum.

First thing might be a read Here if you aren't already fairly familiar with codecs.

Try the first download from Here. I know it says for network administrators but it should work fine for yours. It really sounds like you somehow have only the audio pieces or possibly the disks you are trying are older and you only have the latest & greatest that doesn't understand the video piece. In either case this should give you a complete basic package of both audio and video with legacy support.

If still no joy after loading the package post back.
