I have lost my Quick Launch toolbar. It's not available at either of the usual places - Taskbar and Start Menu Properties or Toolbar (with a right click on the taskbar.)

I even attempted to make a new quick launch toolbar in C:\Documents & Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer and was not able to do so. I get the message "Cannot create toolbar ".

Good grief! What was I thinking? Ignore me. That will only restore the show desktop icon.

    *edit*
Maybe try the taskbar repair tool?

I'm happy to report I've finally found a solution for my problem of lost quick launch toolbar. It seems a registry key was changed by one or more of the spyware removal programs was run - not sure which one. I downloaded a file and it worked for me. Can't claim any credit, it came from this web site.

I thank noahdfear who tried so patiently to help me find a solution.
