I need to update a few machines to win 2000 SP4.

I want to do this via group policy cos i'm lazy and it seems cool.I've been reading the microsoft documentation, seems pretty straight forward.

I extract the update to a shared file, then create a policy for the organisational unit and point the policy to the msi file in the shared file.

In theory, when the pcs restart they update.

BUT, is this only for win 2000 machines?

Do I need to make a group just for the win 2k pcs or is it smart enough to know the difference?

    Thanks in advance,

You lot have helped me loads.

Group Policy Objects are only applied to Windows 2000 machines or above so any legacy OS's such as Win9x/Me will not be affected.
