Well it does'nt smoke but unless I can train them I don't need
    anymore pets.
Conflicts 98se EXPLORER stack takes a dump!
Or my browser crashes, then AIM , then I can't even finish a game of cards or chat it is so buggy, it drives me nuts no need to put much gas in the car for that trip. It would be nice to get some thing done on line for a change.

I have found this place to be helpfull and I am tring to scrape up some suport for the crew here

OK first make you got no viruses or spyware on your machine. Those things will cause you major headaches. You can get AVG Antivirus free and you can use Spybot S&D to look for spyware.

Limit the amount of **** that runs at your machine's startup as each program leaches your system's memory and resources.

Also empty your Recycle Bin, defrag your HD regularly and run ScanDisk once a month.

Also if you have the latest version of AIM, it does have adware installed it that can play streaming ads in your buddylist window.

:) thank you for all your help.
I do regularely dump my bin
I scan disk every time it locks up!
I bought McCafee's latest bundel complete with fire wall.
wonder why it took so long to respond, I got no mail at all!
I had the latest Mozilla did not care for the way it loaded
it froze up so I deleted it.
I have a brand new copy of win 2k and an old copy of nt 4.4
but I would have to say that I do not like the enviroment.
    darn those seductive games:rolleyes:
I have been thinking of dumping this box out and starting with
a clean install of Xp pro but I wanted to wait for the 64bit version
thank you for all your help but it looks like I am going to have to put up with the bugs for awhile

    Senor,
Shadowhawk gave you the rite info. Disable McAfee, then go to www.grisoft.com and download the free version of AVG60 and install and run, you might be pleasently surprised at what you find.
Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Since your talking in code. You need to do a full virus scan, trojans,worms,,etc.. Just because you have a virus program. lots of viruses, disable your virus program. Do an online scan, and see what it says.. I really dont understand your first problem, is it email, surfing, games, chat? etc..

Yes you have lots of junk. I just helped someone who had lots of seemingly unrelated crashes, but after 20 different viruses, and over 150 infected files.

    1. Did you download the AVG from the link that was given you?

    2. Download it, reboot to the safe mode, install it and run it from the safe mode.

Lots of folks are trying to help you here, but you appear to be jumping around all over. You're gonna have to narrow the search, and to start that. FULL VIRUS SCAN.

some thing else has poped up not meaning to bop around but I really need to get a handle on these bugs
I found an insidious bug called n-Case trying to reinstall itself I did a little reading on it too, nasty lill bug that one
and not one that will go quietly either
went to regedit to weedle it out manualy folowed the step by step that another bb posted could not find the address so I aborted the process and am going to do what you posted first
well I am going to sleep for a bit first anyway
Gnight I found info on n-Case at the link below

Glad you found the culprit. I still would do a full system cleaning, and probably remove any software your not using..

That n-Case if a vial one, it even kills Fastrack, a competitor. It uses a randomly named executable to reinstall itself.
Go here if you would like a place to check up on what is starting up at boot.
