This is a new one on me... I have 4 monitors,

    3 x LG 27MP35
    2 x video card DVI
    1 x onboard VGA

1 x LG HDTV on Display Port to VGA

Everything has worked just fine for months. Without any changes made (by me) I now find that if I have Outlook 2016 open on the HDTV, it goes off and on every few seconds. I do not have any other applications open on the HDTV at the same time.

If I move Outlook to any other monitor, it is fine and the HDTV monitor stops going off and on.

If I do not have Outlook open on the HDTV but open on another monitor, I can have any other application open on the HDTV monitor and it will remain on without problem.

This does not make any sense to me, how about you?

Any thoughts would be welcomed, thanks

Off and On like the power light is off and then back on? Or wondering if it is loosing the display/video driver and makes the screen go blank and then back on?

It is the later. The power remains on. All connections are secure

Have you check for a driver update for that Monitor?

Didn't consider that the TV would have an update but it did however, it didn't make any difference to the problem.

I bet this is the problem. Is there no extra digital (DVI, HDMI, or Display) port on the TV you can use instead of converting to analog (VGA)?

Thanks Bill. I switched it to HDMI and the problem has disappeared. So simple I didn't think of trying the alternative.

Glad that it is fixed. Go to thread tools near the top right of this page and mark it as resolved.
