I upgraded to Windows 10 this A.M. what a fiasco!

I have rolled back to my Windows 7 Pro install. I would really like to get rid or all the Windows 10 stuff. I still get the aggravating pop up about Windows 10 (GWXUX.exe) and all the other **** is still there.

I thought it would be best to uninstall the related Windows updates instead of just deleting them (is this idea safe?).

    Help me please. :D

ps I haven't been around in a long while, hello to all old (and new) friends.

Hi bluzkat. Just for clarification, are you currently using Windows 7 and you want to remove the Windows 10 app from your Windows 7 system?

    Hi Evan,

No, I was able to rollback to Windows 7, but all the pre-Windows 10 stuff is still there in a folder (GWX) in the System32 folder, so I still get the annoying popup asking me to upgrade. Also the Windows icon in the sys tray is still there.

I don't know which updates to uninstall to get rid of all this stuff. Can I just delete it? Rename it?

    Neil,

Thank you. It seems I was able to get rid of all the Windows 10 stuff. Also ran Windows Update and hid all related items.

    Yay!! :D

Its been a long time since I had any problems with Windows, and I hope its a long time before I have to do this again.

    Thanks again.

See this post for instructions on removing the Windows 10 app nonsense from your Windows 7 system.

You're welcome and be prepared to upgrade again before July 2016 or save up to buy it when W7 gets chopped. Cheers Neil.

I'll hold on to W7 as long as I can, all my audio gear works just fine. I sort of got talked in to trying W10, several people suggested I could squeeze a little more juice out of some of my programs.

I'm old enough to know better.

Thanks again everyone for your quick response.
