I just upgraded to windows 10, not issues and I love it, but after reinstalling some of my software I get this intermittent chime sound. I'm not sure what it means. Can anyone shed some light on this.

Hi TBoy34, Does the Software that you reinstalled work OK?
    Is it compatible with W10?
I've not had any funny noises on this W10 comp after the Upgrade and all my previously installed Software is working 100%.
What Software did you have to reinstall? Neil.

I re-installed my Nero 2015 Platinum version and it is supposed to be compatible. It all runs fine now issues or error messages. Not sure why I get this theme sound intermittently.

What other software did you install. I had that same problem years ago with win xp pro. I was getting the default ding.wav sound. It stopped after I uninstall the software to a Logitech product. Did this start after you installed Nero.

Good thinking Bill. Like the sound when installing USB drive? Neil.

Yeah. I have several devices connected through a hub (memory sticks, UPS) and every so often one of the devices will disconnect, then a short time later, connect again and each event creates a chiming sound.

i believe that this chime sound is coming from the notification center on the right side. Down by the clock there is a lil label looking symbol. click once on it and see the latest news and such.

Have a look in > Control Panel > Sounds > Sounds > and see if you have a Windows Notification sound checked. Neil.
