On opening IE 11 at least 3 processes of iexplore.exe start running which seems to slow IE to a crawl.

I have scanned with Malwarebytes, RogueKiller, AdwCleaner and Junkware Removal Tool and all report no infections.

I notice it especially when I try to open Outlook.com to view email.

    Any thoughts on this? Thanks

Hi cspgsl, I had to change to my W7 Pro HDD to see the iexplore.exe in Processes in Task Manager. (They don't show in W8.1)
In answer to your question - yes there are 3 entries showing in mine. Have you cleared Temp Files cache etc. as mine runs quite quickly without problem. Neil.

I can only agree with you as 3 show in my W7 Pro OS. Neil.

Hi cspgsl. Having a couple of iexplorer.exe processes is normal. When you start IE11 there is one iexplore.exe process in charge of the window and then underneath you have a new iexplore.exe process running for each tab that you have open.

If you have one IE tab open then you would have two iexplore.exe processes. If you have two tabs open then you would have a total of three iexplore.exe processes running.

Is IE11 running ok after you reset the browser or is it still running slow?

Please download Autoruns. After you download the zipped folder on your desktop, right click the zipped folder and click Extract All. After the folder has been extracted open the regular folder. Run the autoruns.exe program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When you open the program click the Logon Tab and then post a screenshot of all the startup entries in your next reply.

I am not seeing any entries that need removing. Do other browsers work fairly quickly such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome?

Have you tested your internet connection using http://www.speedtest.net/ to make sure that your Internet connection is the same as the speed that you are paying for?

Chrome works fine and I have made that my default browser. The internet connection is rubbish, bordering on dial up but it has always been this way. Sadly, that is what we have available in rural Nova Scotia. One day we will come part of the modern world... maybe for my great grandkids... :(

Does IE11 work ok with no add-ons?

To run IE with no add-ons click Start< Run and type iexplore.exe -extoff and hit enter.
