Resolved Importing Favorites from IE8/WinXP to IE11/Win8,1

Can anyone advise me how this is done? I've searched various sites and help lines, but they're advising use of features that aren't visible on my IE11/Win8.1 laptop.

I've copied the Favorites folder from my old machine onto a thumb drive, but I can't find an "Import" command on IE11 that would pull them up on the laptop.

Of course, Google Chrome picked them up by using my account name (I assume), so that's working just fine. Another Microsoft "make life difficult" exercise! FYI, the two favorite lists are different.

Help will be much appreciated.

 

Been the same way since at least 95. File/Import Export and go from there.

 

Another & simpler way is to use bookmarks sync like built in Firefox or another service like Xmarks.

 

Thanks for the link to the tutorial, Evan. l got the bookmarks copied over, after a few false starts. I think we can consider this item closed.
