I did not realize when the latest W10 Preview build was installed that it was build 10049.
I'm using it now and it opens real quick to Desktop - less than 20 seconds!!! and I'm not using an SSD. :D Neil.

"Hey, Wake Up, Build 10049!" I said.
Still a dark screen like void in an unknown universe.....

I powered down the virtual machine and re-started it.
    Still a dark screen.

The only way was a Windows Upgrade re-installation from 10041....

Okay, next time I shall create a restore point. But does it work? I can't even re-boot it.

Lucky me, I have a Build 10041 snapshot from Fusion 7. But what if it happens as a host OS?

Update: The Build 10049 is released in the "Fast" ring. Many bugs. Better to skip it.

    Hey Neil,

I'm not having the same results as you are. With each new development it seem to be just a little slower to the desktop. I am using some old stuff, Asus M4N78 Pro motherboard with Gforce 8300 integrated graphics Athlon ll X2 250 3.0Ghz. 4 gigs DDR2 PC3200. dual boot XP & TP on separate drives. overall TP is much more responsive than XP and is quicker to boot to the desktop, also using HDD's. Only issue I've had is 2 versions ago I lost audio but it was an easy fix from their forums.

Not really sure what to think about Spartan.

Hi kip777, Remember it's Beta OS and there are/will be variations. The best route is through Feedback to MS. Any problems you encounter are what the developers need to know.
Spartan when I clicked onto it opened the browser just like IE. It's a name change and will no doubt have improvements over IE when W10 is launched.
    Have a look here:http://forums.stardock.com/460268
    Cheers Neil.
