All 'Power on by' functions in the BIOS settings have already been disabled. When my computer is in the sleep mode, it sometimes wakes up automatically for no reason.

Please click here to see the device which waked my computer automatically for no reason.
Please click here to see the device which waked my computer after my pressing the on-off switch.
In my Device Manager, according to the Power Management, all USB devices are 'not allowed to wake the computer' (I hope I have correctly translated it from Chinese into English).
The device which automatically waked my computer was PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&SUBSYS_85341043&REV_05\3&11583659&0&A0
What is it? How to prevent it from waking my computer?

I have asked the same questions on the Chinese and English ASUS forums, looking forward to their replies.

Asus Aisuite3 may be Checked for Auto Updates. Uncheck and see if that cures your wake ups.
Also Adobe and WinZip which are part of your DVD Drivers pack may be set to Auto Update.
Check in Aisuite3 > Settings to see if this is the problem.
Make sure all your Drivers are up to date. Neil.

AI Suite 3 has long been disabled on my computer, which has no WinZip but a portable version of Adobe Reader with no auto update.
Allow Wake Timers has long been disabled too, so auto update should not be the culprit.
I am waiting for further replies from http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx...oard_id=1&model=H81M-A&page=1&SLanguage=en-us
I unchecked them before installation. How do you know they are part of my DVD Drivers pack?

Your anti-malware program may wake your computer. Check its scheduler. You may have other things scheduled too - like Windows Update. Check Windows Media Player too.

You can also run powercfg "“lastwake to see what last woke your computer.

Allow Wake Timers has been disabled, so scheduled jobs should not be the culprit.

It is the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller
In my Device Manager, according to the Power Management, all USB devices are not allowed to wake the computer.

I have a Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX with a USB Unifying Receiver plugged into a USB port. If I do not turn off the mouse it randomly wakes my PC(Desktop). When I turn the mouse off the PC remains asleep. It doesn't happen with my laptops just my desktop and I use 1 Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX for the desktop, another for laptop #1 and a third one for laptop #2. Does your mouse have an on/off switch. If it does try turning the mouse off and see if it still wakes your computer.

Hi Matthew Wai, You asked how I knew you had Adobe and WinZip - my M/B is Asus and the DVD that accompanied it had them on it. I assumed your DVD did as well. Neil.

Maybe a DDS log would show the culprit?

In the device manager, my PS/2 mouse is allowed to wake the computer. But in reality, it never wakes up when I move the mouse.

The 'Lastwake' command showed that the culprit was PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&SUBSYS_85341043&REV_05\3&11583659&0&A0

Have to ask - how do you wake up the machine?
After it goes to sleep - how long does it take before it wakes up?

Do you have all applications closed - especially email apps?
Is the screen saver set to Never?

EDIT: USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - do you have anything plugged into this device?

Press the on-off switch or any key on the keyboard. Actually the keyboard is not allowed to wake the computer, but it can still do so. Each time after it does so, the 'Lastwake' command shows that the device is USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller. So I think the Controller is the culprit. My guess is that, if I could prevent the keyboard from waking the computer, the 'waking' problem could be solved. But how to prevent it?

It wakes up occasionally instead of regularly, so I can't tell how long.

If it had to do with applications, it should have happened regularly instead of occasionally.

    Yes.

A USB 2.0 hub, into which a Chinese writing pad and a pen drive are plugged.

The keyboard isn't allowed to do it but it can still do it. What do you mean by that?

"It sounds like he means "Wake on Keyboard" is disabled in the BIOS Setup Menu, but the keyboard is still able to wake the computer.

In the device manager, the keyboard isn't allowed to wake the computer, but actually it can do so.

In the BIOS settings, in the Advanced Power Management, all 'Power on by' functions have been disabled. But I can't remember whether they include 'Power on by the keyboard'.

I just found that moving the mouse cannot wake the computer, but clicking it can.

Each time when I press the on-off switch or click the mouse to wake the computer, lastwake shows this.
Each time when I press a key on the keyboard to wake the computer or it wakes up unexpectedly, lastwake shows USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller.

Without the Controller, I can still wake it using the mouse or the switch. So I aim to prevent the Controller from waking it, such is the solution to my 'waking' problem. How to do so?

I just did an experiment. I set my email notifier, POP Peeper, to check mail at 1-minute intervals and then made the computer sleep. After 40 minutes it was still sleeping, then I waked it up manually.

Are the keyboard and mouse wireless? If so, do they use the same dongle?

So your mouse and keyboard are wired to the USB ports, right?

You should always be able to wake the computer using the switch.
