I recently installed a Sound Blaster Audigy Fx sound card. I like how it sounds, but when it's running and I adjust the volume, it makes an annoying, electronic "Boing!" sound.

It does the same thing whenever I click to open a video and at other times as well.

My question is this. Can anyone tell me if I could reinstall this card in a way that eliminates these annoying sounds?

    Thank you.

Did you look through ALL of the settings. Odds there's an option to disable that.

Thanks for getting back to me, Steve,

No, I can't see anything in settings that would let me disable it, and I don't even know how it would be named or described if it were in settings.

When you installed the card, did you download and install the latest drivers from Creative Labs?

    Thanks Bill,

No, I don't think so. I'll try it and see what happens.

Hi again, Bill. It seems like I did after all. Maybe I should uninstall it altogether and reinstall it. That way, I might see an option for disabling this whiny announcement sound.
