Resolved New Hard drive instals fails to show in shortcuts.

    I bought as a replacement hard drive, a Toshiba 3Tb. Windows showed it installed necessary software. Device manager>Disk Drives shows Toshiba External USB 3.0 Device. In computer short cuts, all other drives are shown, C,D,F,K,H,J,E, no reference letter refers to the Toshiba. How can I resolve error.

    You must format the drive via Disk Management.

    I can not format as a letter is not allocated. In Disk Management there is one reference shows : disk icon (no letter) Simple. Basic. File system is blank. Healthy (P....) 1862.92 GB. Free space 1862..... 100%. I am not sure if this refers to the Toshiba 3TB. Disk2 Basic. 1863.02GB On line.// 101MB Unallocated// 1862.92 GB Healthy (Primary Partition). Is this error caused to capacity of new drive being 3TB?

    I further checked and found the solution: Right click mouse button>on the blank icon>click Change Drive Letter>Allocated letter M>Regards to Format - this could not be selected as it would erase software titles preinstalled by Toshiba.
