I recently had the Poweliks malware on my machine, and Broni cleared it out. One thing I notice about all of his cleans and maintenance is he recommends that TFC (temp file cleaner) be used along with Junkware Removal Tool, and Malwarebytes. Now, this TFC deletes my CPU/RAM gadget and the hidden icons until I reboot. That's irritating to me. Anybody have a tfc cleaner tool besides CCleaner that they use and like?

Thanks and good holidays to all

Hi elcajongunsfan, TFC as described in WikiPedia:
TFC allows a "test run" of its operation, offering users the ability to preview the files that would be deleted upon normal execution as well as the amount of space that would be freed.
Have you used this facility to NOT Delete your CPU/RAM Gadget? Neil.

Seems like TFC caused similar problems for me before. Hidden icons would appear in the tray prompting me to re-hide them.

A reboot is required for this program to finish cleaning your PC. Explorer is stopped before the program runs. It will close any running programs and hide icons during the process.

I like ATF, but it did not work well with my Windows 7 unit. I don't think the author has updated the program in quite a while too.

If you run ATF before CCleaner, there is a chance that it will stop responding.

If you run ccleaner first, i've found that ATF will then run ok.
