    Hi,

    I'm having a slight problem with my Win 3.1 & PC-DOS 6.3 laptop.
I once extracted a bunch of files (which I don't need anymore) from a zip-file into its hard drive, and later noticed that one of the files has an illegal character (space) in its filename, so I can't delete or rename it.

I was thinking, if I start the laptop with Windows 95 bootdisk, it can handle the longfilenames, and filenames with space, and I could then delete that file.

But could it damage the DOS filesystem? Bootdisk was made on a Windows 95 OSR1 computer, which does not have a FAT32 filesystem, so I guess it is compatible with DOS. Does anyone know/remember if thats correct?

    Hi SpywareDr,

That worked, thank you very much.
I just didn't happen to think, that it's possible to replace illegal character in filename with a wildcard.
I will mark this thread solved.
